CDCP
Important Notice On CDCP
We are happy to welcome all patients that are covered under the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) aims to help Canadians without dental insurance to access oral health care services by easing financial barriers. The program is specifically aimed at people with annual household income under $90,000 who don’t have access to private insurance.
Dental Services Covered
The CDCP will help cover the cost of various oral health care services that keep your teeth and gums healthy and treat problems that can arise. Please note some services require Pre-authorization.

Eligibility and Enrolment
To qualify for the CDCP, you must meet certain criteria outlined on the Government website. Please note:
You MUST be enrolled in the Canada Dental Plan and your enrollment verified BEFORE treatment
is done in order to benefit from the CDCP coverage of dental fees. It is your responsibility to ensure
you are enrolled and to provide that information to us before your appointment. Failure on your part
to do so does not absolve you of responsibility for payment of any services rendered by our office.
The Canada Dental Care Plan coverage runs from July 1 to June 30 (12 months). You MUST re-apply every year to ensure eligibility. It is NOT like a normal plan that continues year after year.

CDCP Coverage & Fees
Please note an important aspect regarding your plan, the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), and how it relates to your dental treatment costs:
- This is NOT a free dental program; depending on their adjusted family net income, patients may have to make a co-payment of up to 60%. They may also have to pay costs the CDCP does not cover.
- Your plan uses the CDCP Fee Guide when assessing your coverage for dental procedures.
- The fees in the CDCP Fee Guide are LOWER than the current fees that all dentists charge which are based on the Ontario Dental Association Fee Guide (ODA Fee Guide).
- As a result, you will be responsible to pay for the difference (balance) between the CDCP fee-based coverage and the regular dental fees AT THE TIME OF TREATMENT.
For example, while you may be eligible for 100% coverage under the CDCP, this coverage applies only to fees from the CDCP Fee Guide which are LOWER than the regular dental fees in Ontario. You will have to pay the difference between your coverage and the actual dental fees at the time of the appointment.
Please contact us if you have further questions about CDCP and to book appointments.
